Egypt officially the Arab Republic of Egypt, is a country mainly in North Africa, with the Sinai Peninsula forming a land bridge in Southwest Asia. Thereby, Egypt is a transcontinental country, and is considered to be a major power in North Africa, Mediterranean Region, African continent, Nile Basin, Islamic World and the Red Sea. Covering an area of about 1,010,000 square kilometers (390,000 sq mi), Egypt is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the north, the Gaza Strip and Israel to the northeast, the Red Sea to the east, Sudan to the south and Libya to the west.
Egypt is one of the most populous countries in Africa and the Middle East. The great majority of its estimated 77.4 million live near the banks of the Nile River, in an area of about 40,000 square kilometers (15,000 sq mi), where the only arable agricultural land is found. The large areas of the Sahara Desert are sparsely inhabited. About half of Egypt's residents live in urban areas, with most spread across the densely populated centres of greater Cairo, Alexandria and other major cities in the Nile Delta.

Egypt is famous for its ancient civilization and some of the world's most famous monuments, including the Giza pyramid complex and its Great Sphinx. Its ancient ruins, such as those of Memphis, Thebes, Karnak and the Valley of the Kings, are a significant focus of archaeological study, and artefacts from these sites are now displayed in major museums around the world. Egypt is widely regarded as an important political and cultural nation of the Middle East.

Egypt possesses one of the most developed and diversified economies in the Middle East, with sectors such as tourism, agriculture, industry and service at almost equal rates in national production. Consequently, the Egyptian economy is rapidly developing, due in part to legislation aimed at luring investments, coupled with both internal and political stability, along with recent trade and market liberalization.

L’Égypte officiellement la République arabe d'Égypte, est un pays d'Afrique du nord-est situé sur la côte orientale de la Méditerranée : le bassin Levantin. La partie nord-est du pays constituée par la péninsule du Sinaï se situe cependant en Asie.
Sa capitale est Le Caire (al-Qâhira, القاهرة), sa langue officielle est l'arabe, sa langue parlée est l'égyptien (arabe dialectal) et sa monnaie est la livre égyptienne.

La República Árabe de Egipto (en árabe مصر Miṣr) es un país de África, situado en su extremo nordeste, e incluye la península del Sinaí (que pertenece al continente asiático). La mayor parte de su superficie la integra el desierto del Sahara, sólo habitado en torno a los oasis. Su capital es El Cairo (القاهرة).

Es uno de los países con más población de África, cuya mayor parte se asienta en las riberas del río Nilo y en el delta donde están las zonas de tierra fértil. Casi la mitad de los egipcios viven en áreas urbanas, sobre todo en los centros densamente poblados de El Cairo y Alejandría.

Egipto es famoso por su civilización antigua y sus monumentos, como las pirámides y la gran esfinge; la ciudad meridional de Luxor contiene un gran número de restos antiguos, tales como el templo de Karnak y el Valle de los Reyes. Hoy Egipto es un centro político y cultural importante del Próximo Oriente.

எகிப்தின் ஜீவ நதியாக நைல் நதி பாய்கிறது. நைல் நதிக்கரையிலிருக்கும் விவசாய நிலங்களை தவிர பெரும்பாலான நிலங்கள் சகாரா பாலைவனமாகவே திகழ்கிறது. நாட்டின் பெரும்பாலான மக்கள் நைல் நதிக்கரையில் இருக்கும் கைரோ , அலெக்ஸாந்திரியா மற்றும் லுக்ஸர் போன்ற பெரிய நகரங்களிலேயே வசிக்கின்றனர்.

இந்நாட்டுக்கு சுதந்திரம் 1922-ல் வழங்கப்பட்டு 1953-ல் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. எகிப்து பண்டைக்காலத்தில் சிறப்புற்று விளங்கியது. எகிப்தின் பிரமிடுகள் உலகப்புகழ் பெற்றவை.
